Gates Cambridge Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students from outside the UK to study at the University of Cambridge. Available for non-UK students of exceptional academic standard, for whom study at Cambridge would be particularly appropriate. Eligibility

Candidates for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship:

* may be citizens of any country outside the United Kingdom.
* may apply to study any subject available at the University of Cambridge.
* may apply to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study:
o PhD (three year research only degree)
o One-year post-graduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, Diploma, MBA etc.)
o MSc or MLitt (two year research only degree)
o MBBChir Clinical Studies (3 year taught degree)
* must be admitted to one of the degrees above at Cambridge through the University’s normal admission procedures. The Trust does not admit students.
* must be well prepared for the Cambridge course for which they are applying and must meet all of the conditions for admission specified by the University (e.g. academic, English language proficiency, if required, and any other conditions set).
* must be able to show evidence of high academic achievement, leadership potential, social commitment and a good fit with Cambridge.
* who are already studying at Cambridge are only eligible to apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship if they are applying for a new course of study (e.g. a one year ‘MPhil only’ student may apply for funding to continue on to the PhD). Candidates already studying at Cambridge who are not applying for a new course of study (e.g. have already started their PhD) are not eligible to be considered for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship.

2009-2010 Academic Year - Community College Summit Initiative Program

AMINEF is pleased to announce the availability of Fulbright scholarships to study in the United States for the 2009 – 2010 academic year.
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State is pleased to announce the Community College Summit Initiative Program.

The Community College Summit Initiative Program will provide funding for round-trip airfare to the U.S.; a living allowance during English language, academic, and practical training program components; tuition costs; a health benefit plan; and cultural enhancement activities. Students will be hosted in groups by community colleges competitively selected to participate in the program. Programs may be one or two years in duration and may result in either a certificate or an Associate Degree. Students are required to return home at the end of their program and may not transfer to a four-year U.S. academic institution.

Eligible fields:
1. Agriculture
2. Applied Engineering
3. Business Management and Administration; Health Professions, including Nursing; Information Technology; Media; and Tourism and Hospitality Management.

To apply to the program, candidates must:
• Have completed a secondary school education;
• Have relevant work experience in the field in which they are applying;
• Have English language skills that provide a basis for enrolling in academic coursework following approximately 8 weeks of intensive English language study in the U.S.; and
• Submit a complete application (original one and two copies).
• Have an Institutional or Prediction TOEFL score of 500 or equivalent.

Applicants with Bachelor’s degrees are only eligible if they are applying in a field different from the field of their degree. Applicants with MA or PhD degrees are not eligible to participate.

The Fulbright Commission in Indonesia, the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) is responsible for advertising the program and for recruiting and nominating candidates for further consideration. Educational experts in the U.S. will make selection and placement decisions for the approval of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

FULBRIGHT PROGRAMS FOR 2009 - 2010 STUDY YEAR AMERICAN INDONESIAN EXCHANGE FOUNDATION (AMINEF)
The American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) annually offers Fulbright scholarships to study in the United States. The primary focus of the Fulbright Program in Indonesia is to promote mutual understanding between the Republic of Indonesia and the United States of America through educational exchange and academic scholarship. Fulbright scholarships are available to Indonesian citizens with the appropriate qualifications as stipulated in the program descriptions listed below.

General Requirements for All Programs :
•Leadership qualities
•A good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures
•A demonstrated commitment to the chosen field of study
•A willingness to return to Indonesia upon completion of the Fulbright program.

Important Required Testing Information
Degree student candidates must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE for all fields except Law and Business) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT for business administration, finance, accounting) if they are selected. It is recommended that applicants begin to familiarize themselves with the above test.

Fulbright Student Program Alumni
Fulbright student program alumni are not eligible to apply to get a second student grant.

This research grant is intended to provide U.S. research opportunities to Indonesian university doctoral candidates who are in the final stages of writing their dissertation. he Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University aims to acquire a good international reputation through increased involvement in the exchange of students and/or researchers and in joint research projects. President University Campus Scholarship

President University was formulated in September 1997 by Mr. S.D. Darmono, the President Director of PT Jababeka Tbk. and Prof. Donald W. Watts, who was the President of Bond University, Queensland and Vice Chancellor of Curtin University, Western Australia, to start President University and initially offering only the Bachelor of Commerce degree. This idea was approved by the Founders of President University.

For Academic Year 2007-2008, 5 full scholarships are available based on the ranking from entrance examination.
Criteria for full scholarship candidate:
1. Fresh graduate of senior high school
2. Show a good academic record during high school (min. 75)
3. Pass the interview session by the committee

Beasiswa ADB - Japan Scholarship Program at University of Sydney

Beasiswa ADB (Asian Development Bank) - Japan Scholarship Program was established with financing from the Government of Japan to provide an opportunity for well qualified citizens of the Bank’s Developing Member Countries (DMCs) to undertake postgraduate studies which will assist the economic and social development of their countries at University of Sydney Australia.
Each scholarship covers full tuition fees, an allowance for books and instructional materials, a monthly living allowance, medical insurance and travel expenses. For scholars engaged in research, a special grant may be applied to assist in field work and thesis preparation. In special circumstances, computer literacy, preparatory language and other similar courses may be covered under the scholarship.

Selection criteria for ADB - Japan Scholarship:
- Applicants with less than two years of work experience will not be selected.
- Preference to women candidates.
- Preference to applicants with lesser financial capacity.
- The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who have previously studied abroad.
- The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who are pursuing a second master’s degree or a second doctorate degree.
- Candidates who are applying in a participating academic institution in their own country may not be selected.
- Diversification of nationality in the overall Program as well as at each participating academic institution will be considered.

The scholarship period is one year. An appropriate extension for the second or third year of study is conditional on the scholar’s maintaining a satisfactory level of performance determined by the University of Sydney and following approval by the ADB. Competition for an ADB-JSP scholarship is extremely strong. Only candidates who receive an unconditional offer of admission will be considered for the ADB-JSP scholarship.

Application closing date for courses starting in March 2010 is 31 May 2009.
Application closing date for courses starting in July 2010 is 30 November 2009.

DAAD-Scholarships 2009-2010 for Professionals Postgraduate with Relevance to Developing Countries

Beasiswa DAAD-Scholarships for Selected Postgraduate Courses for Professionals with Relevance to Developing Countries 2009-2010 is provided by The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) – supports a range of postgraduate courses at German universities which aim at providing academically educated young professionals from Developing Countries (including Indonesia) with further specialised studies.
University graduates who have been working for two years in the public or private sector in technical, economical or agricultural fields, in education or development planning are eligible for these grants. The 42 courses differ in respect to fields of study, language and entry requirements. The age limit for the courses is 32 for Doctoral and 36 years for Master programme.

The funds for these scholarships are provided by the Federal Ministry for Economics Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Due to the limited number of DAAD scholarships for its courses, not all applicants accepted for studies by the German universities can be supported. Therefore, institutions are also encouraged to nominate candidates, whose studies they are willing to finance out of their staff development budget. In this case, an accompanying letter with according statements is necessary for the applicant.
The DAAD supports these selected programmes with a certain quota of scholarships and with financial assistance for a special tutoring system. At the end of the course (programmes run 12 to 36 months, depending on the particular institution) participants can obtain an internationally recognized Master’s or in some courses PhD degree.

Target group: Professionals holding an academic degree and with at least two years of experience in the public or private sector in technical, economical, or agricultural fields, in education or development planning.
Language of instruction : German or English, depending on the degree course.

Application conditions:
- Age limit: 36 years of age at the time of application (for some courses 32 years)
- Academic degree (min IPK 2,75 for Master candidates and 3,00 for Doctoral candidates) and at least two years of professional experience after completing S1 degree.
- Confirmation of employment from the candidate‘s employer in the home country and where possible a guarantee of re-employment upon his/her return to the home country
- Two letters of recommendation of recent date
- A statement of motivation for participation in the postgraduate course with emphasis on the relevance to his/her occupation (1-2 pages)

For postgraduate courses held in English: International TOEFL-Language test of a minimum of 550 points (course at FHTW Berlin 580 points) or IELTS-Test Volume 6.0.

Closing date for applications is 4th September 2008 at the DAAD Jakarta Office

Course Commence: September/October of the following year (preceeding German-language course from April or August).
Course Duration: 12 to 36 months, depending on the postgraduate course (see annex).
Special Remarks:
- Participants in postgraduate courses in which English is the language of instruction receive a scholarship for a two-month intensive German language course.
- Participants in postgraduate courses in which German or German/English is the language of instruction receive a scholarship for a six-month intensive German language course. Please note that the candidates must have certain German language certificate at the time of application.
